He's sometime's mean to me and doesn't like affection. He's a biker, does that have anything to do with it?

He has an intimacy problem and doesn't like to be affectionate. I'm wondering if his upbringing has anything to do with it. He say's he love's me more than he's loved anyone else. He's 48 and our live's are filled with financial stresses as well as having to move very soon, all of a sudden. He say's it's the stress, could it be. Personally, I'm tired of not getting hug's and kisses like before. What else can I do to help this man through this and get back to where we were?
