In a large enough cage, could two syrian hamsters (sisters) possibly live together?

Syrian hamsters are always best kept on their own. Problems often arise when two or more hamsters are housed together. It may seem like a shame to you to have one hamster in a large cage, but it would be more of a shame if one of your hamsters killed the other one because they were kept together.
