Can you get an internet connection on your DSI from a qwest modem?

im at my gmas house in montana and i am trying to get internet on my dsi and my gma has a qwest modem but my dsi says no connection found and i have try to go to manual setup on mmy dsi and do it that way but i cant find the ssid code on the back of the modem
